TV director Kim Manners dies at 58
‘TV director and producer Kim Manners, who served as director and co-exec producer on “The X-Files,” died Jan. 25 in Los Angeles of complications from lung cancer. He was 58.
Manners joined “The X-Files” in its second season, directing more than 50 episodes. He was part of the team that received four Emmy nominations for the long-running show.
Currently, Manners was co-exec producer on “Supernatural,” for which he also directed episodes.
Oh, my gosh. I’m stunned. He was my favourite TV director. The work he did on ‘X-Files’ and ‘Supernatural’… It was simply amazing. He directed some of my favourite episodes of those series.
You could always tell it was a Kim Manners episode. He made sure to always have a few really quirky, unique, odd, shots. And those are probably what I’ll miss the most. ‘Supernatural’ will never be the same.
Thanks, Mr. Manners.
